23 things & social media: the future of staff development?

Thank you for taking an interest in my research! As part of my MSc in Information & Library Management at UWE, I am writing a dissertation about the way social media can be used to deliver training programmes, as with the 23 things programme model that's become such a phenomenon in the past five years. How effective is this method of delivering training programmes? What kind of impact could it have on library staff development in the future?

If you have taken part in a 23 things programme, by completing this (short!) survey, you can help me to shed some light on these questions and express your views about these new developments. If you're interested in the results, I'll be publishing a summary of my findings on this blog. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at my UWE email address: elizabeth2.read@live.uwe.ac.uk or on Twitter @beth_paton (FYI: I got married recently, so apologies for any name-based confusion!). Please click on the link below to enter the survey:
The Small Print:
  • This is a voluntary survey. You will be asked for your consent at the beginning to check that you are happy for your responses to be used as part of the research. However, if you change your mind and want to stop the survey at any time, you can do this by clicking on 'Exit this survey' at the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • All data will be anonymised and stored securely on a password protected computer and hard drive. If you want to find out more about the security of the survey software, please go to surveymonkey.com and check their privacy and security policies.
  • When the dissertation has been completed and marked, all participants' data will be deleted. No data will be shared with third parties.
  • If you have any concerns about the above, please feel free to contact me: elizabeth2.read@live.uwe.ac.uk
